Arthur Czapek was the last tenant of a large flat in a 19th century house in Knoebelstraße 27 in Munich’s Lehel district, which had been occupied by artists and their families from the 1920s until the 1990s. By 2001, all the sediments of past decades, styles and personal preferences had been preserved. A few years after these analogue photographs were taken, Arthur Czapek died and the flat, owned by a big insurance company, was renovated and turned into a luxury appartement.
